We use the Richards Interest Profile Assessment (RIPA) to determine your interest profile. An Interest Profile is the same as a personality profile. One’s interest profile is made up of varying levels of interest in 6 areas of interest that have been defined over many years of research. The assessment is done by juxtaposing 2 simple activities at a time with each being closely related to one of the 6 areas of interest. The resulting measurement yields one’s Interest Profile. From that Interest Profile, we develop your Career Guide.

You can explore presented occupations that are aligned with your Interest Profile. When you select one of the occupations, you will be given a detailed overview of what people working in the occupation are doing. Next, you will be presented with a roadmap that will direct you through the process of moving from your current station in life to that chosen occupation.

When you choose to explore a given career, you will find some intriguing and some not to your liking. Some resulting Career Guides will have a large number of occupations associated with that profile. Others will have just a few. The occupation description and the roadmap will be important in helping you determine the direction you want to take.

For each of the occupations that appeal to you, you should print the report and use the report to assist you in studying that occupation. You will then need to spend time studying each report, learn more about each occupation, and begin to narrow your focus until you can decide on the right occupation for you.

After studying an occupation and gathering more information about an occupation, you may determine that you would like to go in a different direction That is OK. That is part of the Career Development process. Go back to your Career Guide and look for other occupations that look appealing to you. Time spent studying these occupations now will reward you in the future.
